I can't access my authenticator app, what can I do?

Your authenticator app presents an alternative to SMS 2FA. With authenticator apps like Google Authenticator and Authy, you will be required to provide a code from the app every time you try to log in to your account.

While Authy allows you to sync your account across multiple devices, Google Authenticator can only be linked with one device at a time. If for any reason you lose access to your phone or your Google Authenticator app, you will not be able to log into your account.

There's, however, a way to prevent losing access to your account in case you lose your phone:

Back up your secret code somewhere safe

When enabling Authenticator App as your preferred 2-Step Verification method, you will be provided with a Secret Code. This secret code is the only way to link your account to another device in the event that you lose your phone or cannot access the authenticator app on your phone.

Copy this secret code and save somewhere safe, either offline or securely backed up to the cloud.

Note: Do NOT share your authenticator secret code with anyone as they will be able to link any device to your account and get a 2FA code to access your account.

How to link a new authenticator app to your Yellow Card account

If you have your secret code backed up and lose your device, simply install the Google Authenticator app on your new device and link it to your Yellow Card account by following these simple steps:

Step 1

Open your authenticator app

Step 2

Tap the add button and select " Enter a setup key"

Step 3

Paste your secret code into the " key" field. You may name the account "Yellow Card" so as to find it easily.

Once this is done, you will be able to get 2FA code once again with which you can access your Yellow Card account.

Thank you for choosing Yellow Card.
