Why do you need my BVN?
Note: If you do not verify your BVN, you will not be able to carry out transactions on your account. OTP code sent for BVN verification is sent to the phone number linked to your BVN on your bank account.
Understanding the Use of Bank Verification Number (BVN)
The Bank Verification Number (BVN) was introduced by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) as a crucial measure to protect customers from identity theft, prevent banking fraud, and uphold the integrity of the banking system. Each account holder is assigned a unique BVN linked to their identity.
How We Use Your BVN:
For our Nigerian customers, we require your BVN to verify your identity, which is a legal requirement as part of the Know Your Customer (KYC) process. Rest assured, your BVN does NOT grant us access to your bank details. It is solely used for verification purposes, ensuring the safety of your deposits, withdrawals, and our platform's security against potential scammers.
What Happens After Sharing Your BVN:
Upon sharing your BVN during the identity verification process on Yellow Card, your trading status is upgraded to Tier 2. This upgrade enhances your daily trading limit from NGN 200,000 to NGN 2,000,000 and raises your monthly limit to NGN 10,000,000.
Privacy and Security:
Your BVN remains confidential and is exclusively used for identity verification within our platform. We do not share it with any third party, nor does it provide us access to your banking details.
