How to Configure Your API Wallets for Receive and Send Transactions
Last updated: September 2, 2026
This is a guide on how to use Wallet Configuration in the API dashboard to control which local currencies you receive and send via the API.
By default, local currency wallets are inactive, which means local currency flows through your Primary Stablecoin wallet and is auto-converted to stablecoins. When you enable receives or sends for a currency, that currency is held in its own local currency wallet instead.
Before you begin: log in to your API dashboard as an Administrator. Receives and sends are controlled separately for each currency, so you can enable one without the other.
Open Wallet Configuration
Log in to your API dashboard.
In the left-hand menu, under Your account, select Account settings.
Open the Wallet Configuration tab.
The table lists each supported market with its Country, Currency, Balance, Wallet status, and a Receive and Send toggle.
How to enable receives for a currency
Step 1: Turn on the Receive toggle
Find the currency you want to enable in the table.
In the Receive column, turn the toggle on.
Step 2: Confirm the change
A pop-up appears, for example, "Enable NGN receives", explaining that all received NGN will land in your NGN wallet and will no longer auto-convert to stablecoins.
Read the note confirming that any NGN received before you enable receives will auto-convert and be credited to your Stablecoin wallet.
Click Confirm, or click the X to close the pop-up and leave the setting unchanged.
Step 3: Check the confirmation message
A "Receives enabled for NGN" notification appears at the top of the page. Click Okay to dismiss it.
The Wallet status column for that currency updates to show Receive enabled, alongside Send disabled if you have not enabled sends yet.
You have successfully enabled receives for that currency.
How to enable sends for a currency
Step 1: Turn on the Send toggle
Find the currency you want to enable in the table.
In the Send column, turn the toggle on.
Step 2: Confirm the change
A pop-up appears asking you to confirm that you want to enable sends for that currency. Click Confirm to continue, or click the X to close the pop-up and leave the setting unchanged.
Step 3: Check the confirmation message
A confirmation notification appears at the top of the page. Click Okay to dismiss it, and the Wallet status column updates to show that sends are enabled.
You have successfully enabled sends for that currency.
Understanding wallet statuses
Status | What it means |
|---|---|
Inactive | Neither receives nor sends are enabled. Local currency flows through your Primary Stablecoin wallet. |
Receive enabled | Incoming funds in that currency land in the local currency wallet, without auto-converting. |
Send disabled | You cannot send that local currency via the API yet. |
Once both toggles are on, the currency is fully active for receiving and sending via the API.
Turning a currency off again
To go back to the default behaviour, turn the Receive or Send toggle off for that currency and confirm. Local currency then flows through your Primary Stablecoin wallet again, and incoming funds auto-convert to stablecoins.
